Alan Wier was a Design Educator for 16 years at Purdue University and The Ohio State University. He developed instructional tools and taught both undergraduate and graduate level students in a wide variety of design disciplines including: Design Strategy, Interface Design, 3D Computer Visualization, Lighting Design, Interior Space Design and Product Design.

Basic Design
Alan Wier has taught and managed basic design studio programs. At Purdue University he managed a Basic Design Studio program for 250 design and fine arts students each term. He was responsible for appointing and mentoring six or more Graduate Teaching Assistants within the Basic Design Program each term. Studio projects included a wide variety of 2D and 3D design problems, many of which he created. Projects introduced students to: tools, materials, and techniques; composition, color, and the design process; and giving and taking effective criticism.
