Alan Wier was V.P. Application Strategy in the E-Retail Group at Retail Planning Associates in Columbus OH. He developed interactive strategy, information architecture, design and customer experience for both in-store interactive and web based electronic retail. These “click” initiatives have been closely synchronized with the “brick” channels for clients such as: Microsoft, Chrysler Modus, Kodak, Bell Mobility, AutoNation, and adidas.
The TotalCom Interactive
System was an In-store networked interactive application to provide consumer
information for Canada's leading telecommunication retailer. Budget:$ 5 million,
including fixtures and hardware. The interactive system was placed in over
100 locations in Ontario and Quebec. It won Grand Prize, 1999, for in-store
interactive, from the National Association of Store Fixture Manufacturers.
Mr. Wier performed co-engagement management, and application strategist/designer
roles (August 1997 - June 1999). In addition, Mr. Wier managed a team of six
for the ongoing interface and content updates (December 1997 - June 1999).
